Law firm swapping the courtroom for the outdoors

A team from Southland law firm PR Law are swapping the courtroom for the outdoors when they tackle the MLT Moonshine Trail later this month.

Twenty-six PR Law staff have signed up for the event, which will this year be part of the firm’s social club activities.

Team organiser Annabel Murphy said the decision to give the event a go was part of a commitment from the firm to bond as a team, connect with the community, and get into the outdoors.

“This year we wanted to focus more on getting out and about, getting fresh air, team bonding, and physical activity.”

The MLT Moonshine Trail ticked all the boxes, she said.

The group, which covers all ages, and more importantly, all fitness levels, would be completing the 5km walk. One or two may choose to run, however as most people had never tackled the MLT Moonshine Trail before, they had opted for an event that would suit most people’s abilities, she said.

As well as all ages and fitness levels, the team also included representatives from across the organisation, ranging from company directors right through to administration staff and clerks.

“We’ve got a whole range from the office.”

The MLT Moonshine Trail will be held on Saturday February 25 at Dolamore Park.

As well as the 5km run/walk option, there are a range of other categories including the 50km mountain bike, 39km mountain bike, 30km mountain bike, 30km e-bike, 15km run, and a family-friendly 2km walk/run.

The event is a once-a-year opportunity to traverse some of the region’s most stunning scenery, through the Hokonui hills.
